The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gautlier

The very first of it´s kind for the designer, The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gautlier is an international exhibition featuring haute couture, audiovisual pieces, videos and excerpts from fashion shows and interviews, as well as the first designs and pictures by major photographers.  All this will serve as testimony not only to his bold, cutting-edge designs, but also the creativity and craftsmanship of his creations, which have influenced the work of artists such as Warhol, Cindy Sherman, Richard Avedon, and Mario Testino-to name a few.

The exhibit was first featured in San Francisco, followed by Dallas, then Rotterdam, and now in Madrid.  I think it´s an interesting collection of cities but I can´t complain as it´s finally in Madrid.

The exhibition will take place at the Fundación Mapfre, which is where I saw the Yves St. Laurent exhibit not long ago, so I am very excited to visit this.   Jean Paul himself helped organize and put the exhibit together, which means it will have his special added touch.  Can´t wait to visit!
