Mango´s specialty line, MNG, for JC Penny department stores, will increase it´s prescence up from 75 stores to 600 stores by Fall 2011. Clearly, the line has been successful thus far to merit such a large increase in stores in times of economic crisis. Sometimes the most successful clothing lines during a crisis are the ones with lower price points, which people can afford during economic hardship. The price points will be from $9.90 to $159.00.
The stores will be focusing on impactful brand presence and in doing this will open a ´shop within a shop´ that will feature the look and feel of the stand alone Mango stores. The merchandise will also be available at http://www.JCP.com, the stores website.
I personally think this is a great idea and the stores look great! Image is everything! It sorta makes me want to stop into a JC Penney, believe it or not!
