La Bella Roma

Italy is one of favorite places to be in this world.    Not only do I love the stunning landscape, delicious food,  and fabulous fashion, it´s also home to my heritage and the Italian language makes me swoon.  Whenever I get the opportunity to visit I always love to focus on the special, little details…to me that´s what makes Italy a special place.

Enjoy a few highlights from my visit to Rome last weekend…!

Christmas tree made of bottles….very original!  And I like the recycling aspect of it!

I just love seeing bikes in cities.  Call me obsessed but there is something about people riding bikes around a large city that just warms my heart.

Europe wins when it comes to little stone fountains. Hands down.

Now for my fashion picks….I always think of all cities in Italy as being great shopping places….but truly, Rome has NOTHING on Milan.  However, I did see one small boutique I liked- Jodiel, and fell in love with these platforms in their window display.  Jodiel is locatd on Via Vittoria between Via del Corso and Via del Babuino.

I always love Miu Miu´s window display.  Everytime I go to Italy I have to stop and take a lot.  This trip´s glance did not disappoint.

Street Style: Vogue Fashion Night Out

This year´s Fashion Night Out in Madrid was a huge success, in my opinion. The streets were packed tight with fashionistas, photographers, models, bloggers, and just cool Madrileños, dressed to the nines! We stopped in several stores, including Escada, Miu Miu, Tiffany´s, etc, but my absolute favorite part was simply walking around and seeing the fabulousness that surrounded me. People in Madrid have such an authentic, and interesting style. I just love seeing what people put together almost more than seeing the new fall designer lines. Fashion after all…is what´s on the street!

I of course didn´t get as many photos as I would have liked of Madrileñas dressed fashionably.  It was just so crowded- I would see a great outfit, and it was gone in a flash. However, I do have a sampling below of friends and I, and some amazing fashionable people I found along the way. Enjoy!

Lori and Elise…ready to rock (please note am wearing my shoe soulmates, the JC´s)

The Italy Chronicles: Vol 1

Milan´s Window Shopping

Being in Europe, I feel it is important to give proper attention to some of this continent´s most amazing fashion locations, one of those of course being Italy, with special focus on Milan. (Don´t worry Madrid, you are still my number one fave!). This will be one of the many posts I will be putting up with information and experiences about this fashion paradise, Milan.  Additionally, I will be posting about other travel destinations in Italy, just because it´s truly a spectacular haven for a vacation, or to live (must admit…am tempted!).

So, to get started, I will be doing several volumes on Milan. Being in Milan was like being in a fashion dreamworld.  Everyone is fabulously fabulous in every way shape and form: dressed to the T´s, super skinny, super tall, and just super perfect in general.  It was like I was wandering aimlessly through a crowded jumble of designer labels and stilleto knee high boots…and at each streetcorner, staring ever upward towards either a Dolce and Gabana, Prada or Armani shop.  That´s pretty much the best analogy I can give to explain the vibe in Milan…there is a Starbucks on every corner of every street in the continental US and there is a Prada on every corner in Milan.  Enough said, no?

In any case I was left open mouthed by a zillion different aspects of Milan, all which I will be posting in the weeks to come.  First of all, the window displays were FABULOUS.  The merchandising was absolutely dead on and left me drooling outside each and every shop.

My absolute favorites, the standouts, I would say, were MIU MIU and the Versace shop, both pictured below.  (Please excuse the imperfect pictures, I did the best I could, especially while being blinded by fashion)

Check out the glam shoes featured more than once in the MIU MIU shop front!

Finally we have Versace with some crazy lighting! Certaintly was eye catching!  Gotta stand out when surrounded by so much high fashion…
