Mirando Kerr Mango Images Up Around Madrid

Finally, Mango has retired Kate Moss and has plastered images of Miranda Kerr around the city of Madrid.  The unveiling has finally arrived and I must say, I love the images and I think she is a much better role model than our darling Kate Moss.

These are my two favorite images-what do you guys think?  In my opinion, she looks pretty amazing!

Rebajas Finds

My favorite season of the year has arrived-rebajas season! This year several stores started their rebajas earlier than usual, probably to drive some sales due to the current economic crisis.  This worked in my favor, and I rushed to Mango as soon as I heard the news.  Their sales were fabulous.  Almost the whole store was on sale at 50% off.  There were some amazing finds there and I will share them with you.  My absolute favorite pick was a onesie I had originally tried on in size small back in September.  It was too big and the salesgirl had told me that the size small was the smallest they had.  Disappointed, I purchased something else.  Low and behold, I discover an X-SMALL during rebajas! So of course I purchased it for the low price of just 17.99 instead of the original 34.99!  It´s too cold to wear it until spring…but I will be anxiously awaiting to sport it!

Below are my finds from Mango, starting with the infamous onesie.  Stay tuned for other finds when Zara´s rebajas begin!

I´m Lusting for White and Asymetrical….DRESS that is!

Happy Friday!  Today I am obsessed with this Mango dress, for two reasons.  One, because it´s white and I´m happinest when I am tan in a white dress! I am going to Greece this summer so clearly I need an entire wardrobe of white, flowing outfits and this one is perfect.  Two, because it is asymetrical, long in the back, short in the front, which is my new favorite style in a dress.  It combines the elegance of a long dress with the casual, fun look of a short sundress…perfect for all occasion.

Tell me you don´t want this dress, it´s gorg!  Available from Mango, and image from Mango.

Spring Jackets…Top Picks

With the beginning of March and temps looking up, I am dreaming about losing my winter coat and putting on some spring jackets.  Here are my top faves for this season:

I love how this Elizabeth and James Harlow jacket looks like a snazzy blazer slash it´s got a sporty look too.  A bit pricey at 355 USD, but such a fun color and style for this spring.

I love the grunge look of a leather jacket with just the right zipper.  It´s very ¨Girl with the Dragon Tattoo¨.  This one from Mango is utterly cool, and won´t break your bank at about 60 euros.

I´ve given you sporty and grunge, if you want a preppier look, you can´t go wrong with nautical stripes, which are an excellent choice for spring.  Go with this jacket from Cortefiel for 70 euros.

Finally if want your typical blazer, but with an added edge, try this green one with gathered sleeves from Zara for 60 euros.  Extra bonus-this color could even carry into fall, therefore saving you from buying a fall jacket if you are on a budget.

Kate Moss for Mango

Ciao ScarJo! The new face of Mango this spring has been released, and it will be the one and only… Kate Moss!  A few photos have already been released and Kate looks fabulous.  I personally like the black and white styling of the first photo and I adore the white jacket in the second photo.  Enjoy the sneak peek!

Below is a link to a short video of Kate´s shoot.  It was fun to see the other outfits she´ll be posing in for the photos.  Can´t wait to see more!

Escaparate of the Week: Mango

First off I would like to just make it clear than anything or anyone who writes Merry Christmas in LEOPARD PRINT is absolutely fantastic.  Therefore without even trying these Mango holiday windows win first place!  However I do love the lights, and of course the clothes.  They have just enough  glitter and glam to look fabulous for all of your holiday celebrations while still staying classy and elegant.

Fiesta Mango

Mango, alongside Glamour magazine, recently sponsored an exciting shopping event in select stores all over Spain.

The store basically held a party where you got a 25% discount off everything in the entire store.  They served unlimited mojitos, there was a DJ pumping crazy house music, and MAC makeup representatives giving makeovers.  The party was only open to those who had signed up online, and the store was closed to the general public at this time.

I arrived at the event on the later side, which turned out to be great because the crowd was thinning out.  I began shopping, mojito in hand, specifically for skirts and skirts. (ps…shopping with a mojito is SO much more fun that without…I´m afraid I might never be able to go back to non-alcoholic shopping ever again!)

The spring line at Mango has some fun spring merchandise. I definitely saw a lot of longer shorts, and a lot of bright orange, blue, and green.  I tried on several items and in the end, found a khaki skirt I really liked.  Check the pics below for my fashion finds as well as my friends fashion finds!

Me: mojito in hand, khaki ready for purchase!

Olivia Palermo: New Face of Mango

Olivia Palermo, New York City socialite and my personal favorite biatch from reality show ´The City´(NYC spinoff of the Hills) is set to model for Mango.  She shot the ad campaign with her boyfriend Johannes Huebl.

Although her personality isn´t really my style (for some reason…rich, snobby socialites rub me the wrong way), I can´t argue, the girl is gorgeous, and her fashion sense is DEAD on.

She looks incredible in these images from the winter Mango lookbook that should be available soon.  Am OBSESSED with the sequined one shoulder dress too!  Oh and finally…her bf isn´t too hard on the eyes either!

Ask Lori: To cape, or not to cape?

I fully support wearing the the cape.  The cape is a classical piece that can make you look and feel like a fashion queen.  However, the cape plus baseball hat plus converse is a huge fashion no-no.  If you are going to invest in the cape, you must give it the other fashion accessories it will truly need in order to succeed and make you look absolutely fabulous.

1.  When choosing a cape, be aware of the size and shape. If you are short like me, a floor length cape, for example will make you look like Harry Potter.  A shorter cape would be a better fitting choice.

2.  Be aware of color.  You don´t want a black patent leather cape, for example, unless your Halloween costume is the Matrix.  Try for a Camel color, a subdued red or army green, or winter white. Gray is also a nice color.

3. Please, don´t ever wear gym shoes with your cape.  In fact, a word of reference, don´t ever wear gym shoes unless you are going to the gym. Enough said in that area.  I recommend wearing capes with boots, flats, or stilettos.  The right cape can spice up a simple pair of skinny jeans or an LBD.

See below for some cape ideas.

Natalie Portman´s blue cape is very classy, a little bit of a military edge is added because of the buttons. I love the color and it looks perfect with Natalie´s flats, jeans and white shirt.

Victoria Beckham looks great in her white cape and LBD.  It makes everything just a little more elegant.

This image (sorry-slightly blurry) is my favorite because I love how Nicole styled her outfit with the cape. Skinny boots, jeans, and a basic black bag emphasize the cape even more, due to their simplicity.

Some affordable capes featured below.

This cape from Zara is gorgeous.  I love the edging detail, it´s very original.  This model rocks it too, she looks perfect.  Side note, my friend Heather has this cape, and it looks just as amazing on her as it does on this model!

This shorter cape with a tie front is from Mango. I like the idea of a black cape being a bit shorter, it softens the look.

Happy cape shopping everyone!
