Museo de Traje is a museum which houses traditional clothing from different time periods and places.
Different galleries include: historical dress, contemporary costumes, popular costumes, jewellery and accessories, textiles, footwear, and more.
Some designers featured are Christian Dior, Givenchy, Fortuny, an amazing costume and textile designer, Balenciaga, Madame Gres, Pertegaz, Valentino, Yves St Laurent, Versace, Westwood, and Elio Berhanyer. There is also a special section on Haute Coutour, both past and present. The oldest collections feature items from the 16th and 17th century.
If you like history, clothing, or fashion of any kind I would imagine you would LOVE this museum.
They have two special exhibits going on right now
1. Textiles from the Museum of Korean Embroidery: 11 November 2010 – 30 January 2011
2. Traditional Christmas Clothes: 17 December – March 2011
