MBFW Istanbul: Simay Bulbul

Simay Bulbul has a very quirky, fun collection that features only black and white.  I am a huge fan of the ¨winter white¨, so I loved her white looks with sheer material.  Are they more spring than winter?  Maybe.  Do I love them just the same? Yes!

MBFW Istanbul: Mehtap Elaidi

Istanbul is one of those cities that is suddenly trending throughout the world for different reasons.  It´s the new party destination, the new tourism capital and now it´s the hot spot for fashion.  I like that it´s new and not overexposed yet…it leaves space for new talent and designers to emerge.  And they are emerging.  MBFW Istanbul was smoking hot this year and I loved several designers looks.

Mehtap Elaidi has been designing since 2000 and has previously showed in Paris.  She has two stores in Turkey and also sells in various shops throughout  Lebanon, Morocco, France, USA, Dubai, Saudia Arabia, Kuwait, and Bahrain.

Her designs are streamlined and the orange adds a touch of fun to the otherwise grey, black and white color scheme.

Paris Fashion Week: Zadig and Voltaire

A moment in history-Zadig and Voltaire´s first ever runway show! I have to say I was impressed.  The fabric and textile combinations were creative and original while still using on-trend fabrics like velvet, leather, fur and strong silhouettes.  It´s Balmain on a budget basically, with its square shouldered blazers.   The edge was definitely pushed with the knee high boots, short shorts and sassy fedoras.

Paris Fashion Week: Chloé

The Chloé collection was the best I´ve seen from them in several seasons.  Fall 2013 RTW marks the 4th season Clare Waight Keller is creative director for the fashion house and I love where she´s gone with the line.

The inspiration is a school girl finally breaking out of her uniform and wearing what she wants.  I love the polka dots and sheer material.  It´s feminine but also tough, and I love the giant leather bag.

Paris Fashion Week: Lanvin

Lanvin is always a favorite of mine, and they never seem to disappoint me with their amazing dress silhouettes and shapes.  This season I adored the fabric choice for several of the looks ( beautiful silks) as well as the necklaces saying pretty little things like, ” Happy ” and ” Love” .  The whole show just put me in a good mood. I hope these few pics do the same for you!

Milan Fashion Week D&G

´Tis the season of fashion weeks and here were are at Milan, and Paris is just starting up.  I loved the D&G collection at Milan Fashion Week, above it it was just very ¨Italian¨-the makeup, the hair, the fabrics, the colors, just the total ¨look¨in general.  It got me very excited for my Milan trip in May and of course my August to come in Sardinia!

Hope you enjoy the looks!  I absolutely adore the red dress.  Would love to sport it for my birthday this year, conveniently located in Fall 2013…teehee.

MBFW Madrid EGO Runway: ManéMané

The EGO catwalks are especially for new and upcoming designers that are hoping to break it big.  This year, 10 designers showed their lines and I really felt  out of all of them, Manémané really had a shot at becoming a big name designer. The looks were modern and fun and featured colors such as blacks, whites, navy, red and green.  Fabric choices ranged from leather to silk  to velvet to even one dress made out of neoprene.

My personal favorite was the silk jumpsuit which was a forest green on the front and then a sheer translucent blue material along the back.  The velvet jumpsuits were also really beautiful.

I hope to see Manémané off the EGO next year and on the MBFW catwalk for reals!

MBFW Madrid Day 4: Jesus Lorenzo

The Steam Glam collection by Jesus Lorenzo was both steamy and glamorous if you ask me.  Models dressed in greys and blacks channeling  ¨steam¨ as it also blew down the runway. To glam it up, fabrics like red and blue fur were thrown in.  It was all very vintage New York, industrialization meets glam.  LOTS of fur, I just can´t get enough fur!  It´s everywhere, and it´s making me excited already for fall 2013.

MBFW Madrid Day 4: Moises Nieto

The Moises Nieto show had a real warm,  vintages feel to it.  The faded yellow and orange combined with the pattern and the stiff fabric just screamed 1970´s.  The 70´s vibe was complimented by more modern silhouettes like the peplum and the skinny pant.  Also-loved the shoes!

MBFW Madrid Day 4: Miguel Marinero

Miguel Marinero continued with the fur theme, which thrills me everytime I see it walk down the runway.  However, no bright red and blue furs here.  This collection was natural and gave off a very Robin Hood vibe.   Hunting, coon hats and tails, feathers, natural colors like brown and beige were what dominated this collection.  Everything was all very rich and warm, and extremely well tailored.  Not sure what the price points are on this collection but it looked and felt VERY expensive.  My favorites were the leopard furs.  Although still classic, it added a bit of trend to the collection.
