MBFW Madrid: Backstage and My Looks

This year during MBFW Madrid it was raining and cold, and so it definitely limited my wardrobe and hairstyle choices for the 3 days of shows I attended.  I went with a wavy hair look to avoid frizz on straight hair and I wore tights to keep my gams warm in the cold.

Day 1:  ETAM blue silk shirt paired with H&M silk patterned shorts with Nina boots, Vintage Ring and Cole Haan bag.  Accomplied by the lovely Norma Galan of Papier de Norma.  Also I ran into my friend Fernando from dance class, looking distinguished as usual.

Day 2:  Sfera shirt paired with Mango skirt with Jeffery Campbell shoes,Vintage Ring, Gucci glasses and Cole Haan Bag.  Accompanied by the lovely Paloma of The Berry Blues.

I´d also like to post some of the photos I was able to take backstage, of my tickets, press pass, Cibelespacio and more.   This year fashion week was a total blast and I hope you guys enjoy the pics as much as I enjoyed taking them!

MBFW Madrid Day 4: TCN

This season I went to the TCN  show with my friend Paloma, fellow blogger, and it was amazing because she taught me how to work my new camera!  Pics of us to come soon in a post on ¨My Looks MBFW Madrid¨.

TCN has always been a favorite of mine because their looks are just very wearable.  I love seeing things on the runway I know I could easy wear on a Saturday afternoon just shopping or hanging out.

They had a nice touch with putting hats on all of their models, which I liked.  I am also a fan of their oversize sweater look, in fact I am happy to see the trend will carry into Fall/Winter 2013-14 as it´s one of my personal looks I love to wear.

Enjoy the photos, I know I loved the show!

MBFW Madrid Day 3 Highlights

Day 3 of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Madrid has come and gone.  Unfortunately today I couldn´t get to any shows today but below I have some of my favorites for you to enjoy.    More recaps to come tomorrow after I spend the afternoon at shows!

MBFW Madrid Day 2: Roberto Verino

Roberto Verino never ceases to blow me away, year by year.  This season his collection was absolutely brillant, and I literally mean brillant as in shiny, metallic, furry, and intense!

There were times when I felt as I was at a roller disco party, and it was completely amazing.  Lots of glitter, lots of metallics, lots of fur, and throwbacks to the 1970´s.  It was a nice change from the tailored and professional looks of the first two shows I witnessed.  Wearability level?  Probably a 2 on a scale of 1 to 10.  Level of sassiness? A clear 10.

Unfortunately my personal photos turned out rather dark-the show was dimly lit with spotlights only on the walking model.  Therefore I am using Getty Images to show you the best possible shots.  Enjoy!

MBFW Madrid Day 2: Roberto Torretta

Roberto Torretta´s Fall/Winter Collection seemed to be very professional this year.  Definitely things I would wear to the office, of course if I went to an office every day.  There was also a HUGE appearance of leather and fur, it´s becoming crystal clear to me that fall 2013 is all about: fur, leather, green, and that orangey pink color.  And of course, black, which never goes out of style.

Showstopper was the bright red jumpsuit, without a doubt.  I have also seen quite a bit of bright red for fall.

Enjoy the below looks my lovely photographer Norma Galan of Papier de Norma snapped for me while I focused on the show!  Also note-we snapped some pics of a few famous celebs also checking out the show such as Carmen Lomana.

MBFW Madrid Day 2: Ailanto

Ailanto is a fashion design company created by twin brothers Iñaki and Aitor Muñoz.  The Barcelona based design team showed a beautiful and tailored collection focused on pea coats, vests, patterns, and silk.   Highlights were the cobalt blue coats, a floor length green dress, and the striped jumpsuit.  In fact, all the coats were fabulous and there were several long wool vests that were standout pieces, in my opinion.  I really enjoyed the show and I think all their looks were very wearable. Enjoy the pics below and click on each one to see them bigger.

Valencia Fashion Week XIV Highlights

With all the excitement at MBFW NYC, I almost forgot about Spain´s very own Valencia Fashion Week.  ´Tis the seaon of fashion, and of course everything always happens at once.

I often find it difficult to find photos of the catwalk for Valencia Fashion Week-it just doesn´t get the same coverage as a lot of the bigger city´s shows and events, but I was able to get my hands on a few, and here are some of my favorite looks.

In order, Dolores Molla, María Cozar Coture, Mesa Redonda, Miguel Vizcaino, Mompo, Patricia Adams.

MBFW NYC: Gowns by Jenny Packham

I always fall over and die when I see Jenny Packhams beautiful dresses and of course I swooned over her Fall 2013 collection.  I love that pinkish color she uses a lot for this line.

The dresses were feminine, soft and romantic.  See for yourself below.

Del Pozo Walks the MBFW NYC Runway!

Del Pozo has been one of my favorites since I saw their first official runway show in Madrid last fall.  It was just after Jesus del Pozo himself passed away and a new line, Del Pozo was created in his honor by Catalan designer Josep Font.

Fast forward to now and Del Pozo is walking the NYC runways, which are some of the most famous in the world.  Not bad, if I do say so myself.  Making spanish fashion accessible internationally was my goal with this website, so thanks Del Pozo for your assistance by showing your collection in NYC.  :)

The line was absolutely breathtaking with its architectural plays on volume and some funky colors-I love when designers use bright green.  The designs were femine and girlish and was inspired by the Victorian Era.  Fashionistas in attendance were Olivia Palermo and the show took place in a Canoe Studio in Chelsea. (I actually attended a work event there several years ago!)

Enjoy!  The showstopper is the beige and green dress…not like you need me to point it out, speaks for itself!
